Greg Partlow one thing to note, I had this connected to the original power supply that came with the unit. it did not engrave anodized aluminum this way. I connected the board up to the same power supply that drives the steppers which is a more consistent output and now I can engrave on to anodized aluminum at 300mm/m feed. here's a picture of the laser etching into an anodized aluminum business card https://i.imgur.com/cqiM2qj.jpg

I have this rigged up to a thrown together cnc machine with 4 steppers and 4 tb6600 stepper drivers hooked up to an arduino mega running with grbl and now with this 5W laser engraving module. I wish there were instructions or google searches with people who did this more but there are not. so here's some tips. I found if I put the dangly cable where the power is coming in from connected to the ground
