D: Gonna play Jeopardy here since cant write review: But right now I am 2 for 2 for not working out of the box, but was able to fix them. The answer is poor quality lets what defect slip through on this board? Answer 1: The breakout board for the PCF8574T can get bent and touch the components on the LCD board. Simple fix (Gently bend the breakout board so it doesn't touch the LCD grounds.) Answer 2: The surface mount solder job on the PCF8574T is sometimes poor and causes memory faults. USE hd44780 LCD library Diagnostic if its not working right, to verify if you have these issues.

I bought this to use as a stand alone unit. My wife preferred its appearance in comparison to the cheaper looking models. I cannot vouch for the Geeklink system and if it is better in their ecosystem, but I did not want to set up an account. The quality of the design was an issue. What I had to do to get good results: 1.) The PMI values out of the unit were high at the start. This settled down after use, I am guessing that was latent particulates from manufacturing. 2.) The touch sensor did not work well on my product. I took it apart and found that the PMS 5003 detector case was messing with the capacitance of the touch circuit. I had to cut the solder joint tip flush and add resistance with plastic bags and electrical tape between the touch sensor and PMS case. Now it works fine. 3.) If you are going to use it as stand alone remove the WiFi module. Without the WiFi module it defaults to pretending its connected and it removes the connecting screen. Good job firmware guys! 4.) The speaker was obnoxious to me so I added a little tape over it to muffle it. That is a personal preference no points deducted :)

I like the look and feel of the helmet. Lots of foam should offer good protection in a fall. I use it for my scooter when a full motorbike helmet would be too restrictive, and a bike helmet would not be enough.

The look of the speakers is great; kind of new age/retro thing. Unfortunately they are not true stereo speakers. It has a stereo plug and receives both channels but the output to the speakers is mono. There also isn't a filter on the power so when you computer starts up there is a very audible pop from the fluctuation of the power. I took it apart to verify there wasn't just a bad solder bridging the stereo. Overall I will still keep them because they look cool and its for a workstation and I knew they were cheap so its not like I was expecting lots of capability.

I will concur with the rest of the reviewers this has been a great soldering gun. The temperature control is good and it is easy to get going. I use an old DELL power supply with an adapter.

This thing has been great for my family when traveling off the beaten path. Normally we would have to settle for just a selfie stick if we wanted to get the whole family. Now we can quickly set up a tripod position the shot and have a full family photo that looks great in a short amount of time. We always have it because it fits well in a purse. If we need a quick selfie it works just as good as the old selfie stick.
