BG141144820 No. The plate at the bottom of the tool holder you see in the photo has a tapped hole which accepts the centre bolt. This plate can be machined to provide a T- nut or whatever device you need to fit the tool holder onto you cross slide. Careful measurement is required to ensure that the cutting tool will be low enough (or high enough, depending on your lathe) so that it can be adjusted to provide the correct cutting height.

D: Hi, Can you tell me which way the handle turns to lock the holder onto the tool post? ie if on a lathe and the handle was on the right, would you pull it towards you or push away. Thanks, Matt

BG141144820 The handle to lock the tool post turns clockwise, i.e. if the situation is as you describe you would pull the handle towards you.

BG141144820 If you Google 'Machifit QCTP dimensions" you should find an answer containing small pictures of all Machifit QCTP together with dimensions of all of the tool orders for the range of tool posts. The one shown in the illustration with your question is a wedge type QCTP that most people think is superior to the plot type as in Dixons and RDG.
