D: I have it up and running with latest Ubuntu I am running Boinc software to stress test it, but the CPU temp goes to 98C. this seems dangerously high and I would l like to add a fan.. However, I am having difficulty sourcing the required 70mm fan. Also I can't see a 12v power source on the motherboard. any help appreciated?

teochris Addan external fan with external power or use a laptop cooler pad.

D: what wifi cards are for sale on the banggood site that I can purchase to fit in the pcie slot that is available in XCY 30?

minami Ihaven't found it here so I can't answer it. However, I think it can be installed with a card of the same size as the Intel 7260HMW.

This is a very good machine! BUT it has a heat problem, when I am running it a full power task, such as BOINC, it gets as high as 100C. and the case itself gets up to 70C. Far too hot to be touched. This does not seem to worry the components and it will run like this for 8+ hours but I am not comfortable having something so hot lying around the house. Unfortunately, I cannot track down a fan that will fit the case. Likewise, I cannot find a WIFI module to purchase. This is not too big a problem as I happy to continue with the excellent ethernet, but it limits future use if I want to move it away from my bench. Can XCY please advise where the WIFI can be purchased but most important some fan or something, to cool it down.

D: In some places it says i7 in other i5. Which one is it?

taurus548 there is a similar one available on the website with an i5, but it is not this one.

D: Can we download information on the existing BIOS?

taurus548 have you installed RAM & SSD as it needs this for Hdmi output for you to see anything on screen.

D: How do we access the BIOS? I have tried the normal hold "delete" key down and nothing happens? It's as if there is no BIOS.
