D: Why is there such a price difference between the Pixhawk4 on older firmware 2.4.6 and this newer one on 2.4.8. The older one is twice the price

BlackDouglas The "newer one" is surely not the original manufacturer and has some quality issues eg port locations being out of alignment with sockets and main led failure.

D: I have two of these. Both with failed Main LED lights. Will an external LED work on a I2C splitter even with the on board LED having failed ?

In the advert the back up processor is STM32F103 .The one I was sent was STM 32F100 which I believe is 24Mhz and not 72Mhz like the F103. It takes the enjoyment out of getting something new. It is cheap.

Main multicolour LED failed to function. Several openings in the top case were poorly positioned making inserting plugs impossible without enlarging openings. Awaiting response from Banggood.

Pros :- Inexpensive and does the job on F450 with 3S battery and 2212 920kv motors. Cons :- 14 SWG wire.(should be ok with my set up ). BEC wires all black ( minor issue ).

I use these without balancing, on a Q450 with gimbal, cameras and 920kv motors, total weight 1.5Kg. I find them to be remarkably durable, unless you crash a lot.

I think this will not work without mods to suit APM 2.8 f.c. There are other types ,more expensive, that do.

I was a little concerned with the strange rough texture of the on board chip. However I have successfully flown using the device and am satisfied with its function and economic price.
