Works well, no issues. Seems to operate at 8.0V for a 7.4V battery replacement. Saves batteries when mobile in a vehicle.

Designed for 6 rechargable AAA batteries. If you use non-rechargables you will find the radio does not work due to overvoltage. However, if you use 5 non-rechargables and one dummy to complete the circuit, it DOES work!

Seems well made, handy two way zips. Too small for a full first aid kit but useful for trauma additions such as chest wound pads and tourniquets.

Controls motor speed very well. Tested over full range. Sometimes takes 20% power to get the motor moving, but this may be due to the motor I used, controls right down to 5% when decreasing power. Push button is momentary press to cycle On-Off. I ordered 4 and they all work well.

All arrived well packaged. Batteries were almost fully charged. All programmed via CHIRP with this cable (ID: 923053). Everything tested for functionality - full frequency range as advertised. Unable to check power output, but radio stamped as 8W. One charger base DOA, which was replaced immediately by Banggood - very happy with service!!

rickj Thisis not possible with any PWM controller, as it pulses the maximum input to give lower than the maximum. You will need a DC voltage source at least equal to the maximum you want out.

I have a muscular neck, 17 1/2 inch, and the throat mike fits comfortably and enables very quiet speech. Earpiece is around 4/5 for sound quality. transmit button has a good long lead, positive action (though not completely silent) and velcro hooks on the back.

The base appears to be cast iron and is suitably weighty. The wingnuts tighten progressively and are easy to adjust. Only down point is that the magnifying glass was not well protected, although mine has come to no harm in transit. You will not get significantly better without paying a lot more.
