Upon arrival I opened the box to discover that, as many others have found, the tail was broken. However, 5 minutes with the hot melt gun and it was difficult to tell there had ever been any damage. I fitted a 950mAh nanotech 2 cell and the C of G was spot on, so it was off to the field. Being a warbird I gave it a good toss with plenty of throttle and it was away. It has plenty of power on this setup, and flew away well needing only minor trim. My expo setup was poor and I broke a prop on landing, so it had to sit on the shelf whilst some spare props came in. I would recommend picking up a spare with your order. With 20% expo on the ailerons and the elevator the second flight was much better. The aircraft is quite aerobatic, and scale maneuvers are easily performed. Unfortunately, it was during this second flight that I discovered that my aileron servo was not returning to the centre correctly. That made landing tricky as leveling the wings was...tricky. Like many warbirds low speed handling is a little demanding. Some methylated spirits and gentle persuasion removed the faulty servo and I fitted an HXT500 which should provide better performance on the next flight. All in all it is a great little warbird that requires some work, but should provide an excellent flying experience. All in all it is still great value for money.

I added some basic landing gear because the plane did not come with any. I added the smallest ones I could find on banggood. I had to cut them down to size because they were a little too big. Notwithstanding my limiting the weight, the plane would only taxi on a flat asphalt surface but would not go airborne. I believe the problem is the 6" propeller is too small. If you get this plane, make sure you get an 8" propeller offered for larger 1100mm wingspan models. Also, make sure you get an unbreakable prop as 3 and 4 prong props break very easily. The servo connector lines are very thin and fragile. Don't do anything to them. I would not attempt to use the ailerons, in retrospect. You don't need them and they only add more weight and are extremely difficult to adjust properly. Remember there are no gyros on this model. Don't purchase landing gear; the plane's not set up to accept landing gear, and IMHO, the engine is too small to propel it into the air with any extra weight. The plane comes with a nice stand for mounting it on a desk or bookshelf or something along those lines. I think that is what the designers might have had in mind when they put the small prop and engine on this. I looks great. If you enjoy taxi'ing on a smooth surface, there's some fun in that. The plane came in a box showing a different aircraft on the outside. It was perhaps re-packed into this box from the original box. The fuselage was significantly damaged during shipping but I used a lot of epoxy to repair the damage. The extra epoxy may have added very slightly to the plane's weight but should not have had a significant effect.

Nice looking warbird. Arrived with the elevator broken. I glued it back together, seems to be staying together. So far unable to get it to fly. I need to figure out why.
