It's a very good clock, when it works. I have had three now, and none of them worked when built. Difficult, if not impossible to set time and date and no one second pulse to keep time, settings also not retained by battery backup. Problem seems to be that some of these kits are being sent out without the firmware being installed. If you recognise this problem with your clock go to this website: https://www.roboter-bausatz.de/p/bausatz-rotation-led-uhr-ds1302. Click on documentation tab, download firmware update, including instructions, ZIP and update software using EC1838B.hex file. Clock should now work fine.

When built the clock didn't work. With difficulty, the time and date, etc., could be input but there was no one second pulse so the clock did not keep time, and when the power was disconnected all settings were lost. To cut a long story short, the problem was with the firmware supplied with the clock. I found a German website (https://www.roboter-bausatz.de/p/bausatz-rotation-led-uhr-ds1302) that had a slightly different hex file, 60KB as opposed to 59KB that was supplied. I upgraded to this hex file using the instructions and now the clock works fine. It's a good clock, but was very difficult to get working.

Nigel I found a hex file that works at roboter-bausatz.de - Open the documents tab to download hex file and instructions. Hex file is called EC1838B.hex

Nigel Thesensors are waterproof but the display is not.

Nice little units, good price, quick and well tracked delivery with sensors reading very close to each other when placed side by side. Very happy.

Excellent kit, very colourful, good size and nice to see it rotating. Good patterns and remote works too - Just have to find a way to lubricate the rotating pick up to make it last longer. Probably graphite grease.
