As described. Nice neat package. I just wish there were some more of the specific values I need for guitar tone controls. I will have to combine some to get the desired values, such as .022uF, .033uF, .047uF, etc.

For this price some compromises might be expected. A: The pcb is rather thin. The board-to-trace bond is not very strong, traces tend to lift off if soldering takes too long. B: Placement of fixing holes rather strange - one is located under a 2200uF capacitor! C: Finally the amplifier suffers from a fundamental PCB design fault. The rather narrow ground trace first goes from power supply capacitors through the center of the board to speaker connector, then to the input connector and last runs back along the edge to volume and tone controls. This is really bad design which causes severe positive feedback, HF oscillations and "motorboating", at least when using speakers with resistance 8ohms or less. Audio amplifiers should have a single, central ground point and components should be connected directly to this ground point using separate traces as far as possible. High current to speakers must absolutely not share traces with low voltage input signals. Fortunately, here the solution is simple: Disconnect the ground pins of speaker connectors by cutting the traces close to the connectors as shown in the pictures. Then connect an insulated wire from the +pin of C4, directly to the speaker connector ground pins. Perhaps even use two separate wires - one to each speaker ground. Unfortunately many who buy this board might not know how to correct this problem. I still consider this kit good value for money.
