GVMoto You have to power it from a 5V source. VBAT pin can measure up to 6S (25V).

GVMoto As far as I am aware, you connect this module to other devices, which you want to connect to your phone. In my case it was a Flybarless Helicopter Stabilization System, that I wanted to program without using a USB Cable, because of the position of the module (hard to reach place). Normally it is used for Arduinos and other similar boards, that you want to connect to wirelessly. I hope my answer is relevant enough for your question. :)
