mapleman231 I challenged myself and bought a Balsacraft DIY build. With 4 servos on 3 channels. Did the ailerons rudder and elevator. Even got "horns?" and hooked up the servos. installed a receiver and flight controller. setup with motor,esc's and ALL OF IT FROM BANGOOD. Even did covering in red christmas tissue i found. Crazy thing is though?? Ive NEVER flown an RC plane.....im gonna try this one first hahaha

this plane is really well built, it was my first plane and within my first five flights I got it stuck nearly at the top of a tree and I thought I’d never see it again but after two weeks of being beaten up by wind and rain in the tree it finally fell down but the whole front of it had fallen off. I didn’t mind I was happy to have it back so I tried to put it all back together with some hot glue and now it flys just like it did when it was brand new. I have no idea how it survived since it still had the battery connected and it rained really heavily during the time it was stuck so I give the plane a 10/10 for durability as well as it is super fun to fly so I’d highly recommend it to anyone wanting to give the RC plane hobby a go. ps take the amount of room you think you need to fly it in and triple it so I’d say a football field or a park with basically no trees. (trees are your enemies)

Finally finished this one. The company NEEDS to start supplying instructions. Making people track down a photo dump of build pics online is NOT good enough. That being said, the kit is good enough for the price. Comes with appropriate wing structures to fit retracts (I went belly lander to save weight). Good, robust design, with correct thrust angles on the motor box. Be careful with the centre section sheeting: some of it doesn't fit great, and the plans aren't clear, so it took some filling to sort out. The recommended power is not enough, and the linked power components are very poor quality. This came out at 1.14kg/2.5lbs without landing gear, so needs 220-250W of power minimum. Thanks to the lack of instructions, I had to calculate CoG for balance myself, which came out at 65mm from the leading edge at the wing root (approx on the main spar). I'm yet to fly it, but hopefully that's a good start.
