D: can the imager work over longer distance with magnifying lense infront?

gbrookes Thermal imagers generally cannot see through water or glass, so no you can't use a magnifying lens, unless it has some sort of Germanium crystal type material to actually work, which is why normal thermal imagers are so expensive because their lenses can't just be glass or plastic.
