seabaughs You CANNOT combine two different sources of 120AC to get 220VAC. The cycles have to be precisely 180 degrees out from each other. It could only be done it the two switches were linked and synchronized. Google "What is electrical frequency and why does it matter?"

seabaughs Watts divided by Volts = Amps, 4500 watts divided by 220V = 20.45A So, you'd need to wire it to a double 25 amp breaker similar to your electric oven or dryer.

seabaughs Notwaterproof at all. I found out the hard way. I spent hours rewiring my boat trailer only to have them fry the moment they hit the water. They were absolutely beautiful the seconds before that.

seabaughs Not this device. Ther are many other devices that will do what you want. This unit is rare in that it gives batteries priority. It will be easier to find what you're looking for than what this does. Be very carefull connecting anything to your home circuits.
