D: Can I cut 6mm ply even if I do extra passes that’s fine

Domandata da BG553101149 il 2022-04-04 03:48:46

BG191117381 I wish people would answer the question. This engraver will cut 6mm, but at more than one pass. You may need 3 or 4 passes. I recommend you use Air Assist and a honeycomb bed. You can do without, but you'll probably end up with a piece of wood with burn marks around the cuts. If you can afford it, upgrade to at least a 10 watt Optical output laser.

D: Are these ferrite magnets or neodymium magnets?

Domandata da thetacocat il 2019-11-02 09:29:37

BG191117381 Typical, give two different types to fool you into thinking the item is better than it actually is. Whenever you see something like this in their listings always assume it's the cheapest version you'll be getting. In this case the black magnets are always ferrite. True Neodymium magnets are rated up around N50. Ferrite are down around 30 something. The difference is chalk and cheese.

D: what is the different between 30w and 5.5 / 6 w ?

Domandata da zoharbarak il 2021-03-14 14:36:18

BG191117381 There are no 30watt optical output diode lasers. The number sellers show is usually the input power. There are no 6 watt diode lasers, and occasionally a 5 watt module may squeeze out 5.5watts, but not all, again it's usually a number sellers use to mislead you, OK it's a lie. A single laser module is always 5watts, a double laser is 10 watts, a triple laser is 15watts and the quad laser is 20watts. Don't believe everything Chinese sellers show on their listings.

BG191117381 No idea what "desing" means, but no laser diode module will cut clear acrylic. coloured acrylic can be cut depending on it's thickness and you can paint clear acrylic black (underneath) and again, depending on it's thickness you may be able to cut it. If the laser needs too many passes or the laser moves too slowly the acrylic may burn or distort. It's best to experiment first. :-)

BG191117381 No your 5 watt laser will NOT cut 6mm in one pass. I know the manufacturers say it will cut 6mm, but they never mention in how many passes. I have the 10 watt A10 Pro and they say it will cut 10mm, again, no mention of how many passes. Remember this: - They'll say anything to get a sale.

D: is the honeycomb aluminum or metal that holds magnets?

Domandata da hollybill il 2022-07-25 04:19:38

BG191117381 The listing states it's steel, so it's definitely magnetic. I've seen users attaching magnets to flatten out a sheet of Birch and it did a great job.

BG191117381 I purchased the entire 24 colour range in Australia for a small fraction of the $216 they're asking for these. They are NOT UV paints, they only color UV paints. Almost any non-water based paints will do the same job.
