While charging the light flashes red, and when it's full it turns to a steady green color. You have to keep the on-off button for a couple of seconds before it turns on. Because Xiaomi released their official adult Beard Trimmer only in India I bought this, it works fine for adults but mind you I have very thin hair. All in all a good bargain from Banggood, I fully recommend it.
