I bought a couple of these lights for the kids bicycles ( one each ). The body of the light appears to be metal and is very nicely finished. The handlebar fixture is a ratchet type plastic strap and the light unit can be detached from the bar mount with a 90 degree twist if needed. I am very impressed with the light output from such a small unit! The photos where taken in complete darkness, no street lights or moon visible ( cloudy night in the countryside ) The light from the open door could be a little misleading, but there wasn't much and the bicycle light was illuminating around 85% of the side view image. The riders-view photo consists entirely of the bicycle light illumination only. You can see the cut-off as either side of the illumination is quite black, and again with the side view photo, you can see how dark it is behind the bicycle.
