I purchased this IR illuminator to assist my night vision camera because the specifications stated that it required 12 Vdc at 2000ma which would be approximately 24 watts of IR light. In reality the current draw on this product is approximately 300ma. 300ma at 12 Vdc is only 3.6 watts of IR light. This is significantly less than implied by the specifications (approximately 17% of what was implied) and does not provide enough IR light for long distance night vision cameras.
