Great, this is the right stuff to integrate it in a smart home control to be alerted when the first rain drop hits the plate.

I give it a general ok for sensing water and appears not to corode after 2 months of use outside in the rain, I use it for sensing rain a turning on my windshield wipers when it starts raining (of coarse you need the added electronics for the sensor input and wiper drive switching.
