All the LEDs light up, the light is even, all LEDs have the same color and brightness. The white lights I got are very bright. They where listed as warm white which is not correct. The white light is a neutral white, neither warm (white-yellow) nor cold (white-blue). The LED strip can be cut (and possible soldered back together). It is also encased over the LEDs (and connections) with clear rubber and looks like it can withstand direct water splashing so the IP65 Waterproof claim seems to be correct. The USB cable is permanently attached (not separate as the description might indicate), the cable is 1 meter with a switch in the middle. I'd suggest connecting at least 2 amp USB power. A cheap (but good quality) 2.4 Amp USB power adapter should work fine. Powering it from a portable battery with USB power out also works, just make sure you have good quality batteries that can provide at least 4.8 volts and handle over 2 amp power draw. The LED strip gets slightly warm to the touch near the beginning. I ordered warm-white but what I got looks like pure-white (which was not even an option at the time). I was planning to use it behind my PC monitor and cut it up into four strips and then solder the wires between them. But as I got a pure white which as mentioned looks very neutral I may instead make myself a photo box to take images of objects inside it. It would probably work well as a portable light source as well. If cutting it into sections and soldering on wires then don't forget to use a glue gun to properly seal around where you soldered on the wires to avoid short-circuits in case it gets wet. I'd also like to note that if using it as a light behind a PC monitor then depending on the color of your wall and how far away the wall is you may not get the effect you want. You need a brighter colored wall and it must be less than 50cm away, the closer to the wall and the bright color your wall is the better the lighting effect will be. A really nice product.
